The Ultimate DSLR Shoulder Rig with deadly simple Follow-Focus
thingiverse
Introducing a comprehensive shoulder rig for DSLR cameras, printed using a Makerbot. After hours spent perfecting its design and numerous test prints, it's time to share this fantastic creation with you! Key features include: 1. Compatible mounting system with the Velbon DV 7000 tripod for quick transitions between the rig and tripod. 2. Optical viewfinder for sunny days. 3. A simple ring-and-cord Follow Focus system that allows you to maintain a steady grip on the camera. 4. All plastic components were crafted using a Makerbot Cupcake CNC Ultimate printer with ABS material and a heated build platform. To assemble, print the parts at 220°C with a heated build platform set at 110°C. Next, cut 16mm and 20mm diameter aluminum tubes to specific lengths and connect them using M5 screws and nuts (an M8 screw is needed for the lens holder). Secure the horizontal tube in the T-connector with metal screws, positioning it for optimal comfort. Screw grip clamps onto grip tubes, then attach them to the rig's main tube. Attach a small lens from a children's magnifier to the viewfinder, adjusting its distance to your eye for sharp display viewing at approximately 6 cm. Finally, add hand grips to complete the setup.
