The Ultimate Arduino Uno R3 Box for MPCNC - no screws
thingiverse
This is just another MPCNC Arduino Box, nothing special. It's designed to be screwless and glueless - all clicks. The Arduino fits snugly in without the shield attached. I slipped it in without breaking the clips, then added the CNC-Shield on top. The fan (40 x 40 x 11 mm) had to be forced into place but stays put reliably. It blows air straight at the stepper-drivers and exhausts through the openings at the bottom of the box. Make sure you have enough cable left over to put the lid with the fan next to the box when working in it. The hole for the 12 V CNC-Shields cable is 6 mm in diameter. If a plug is preferred, remove the original clamps from the shield. Two clicky noses hold the lid securely and the stepper cables run below the lid to avoid cutting cables or plugs during hardware or wiring changes. I printed it on an Ender-3 with PLA+ at 60 mm/min speed, 0.16 mm layer height, 100% infill, 0.4 mm nozzle diameter, and 200 °C nozzle temperature, 60 °C bed temperature. I turned it upside down for printing without supports (had to rotate it 90° in Cura). The surface quality was a bit off due to calibration issues and an open window next to the printer. The writing on the box is too small for a 0.4 mm nozzle and 90° rotation. The design itself is okay, but getting the Arduino in requires some patience. I'm looking forward to your suggestions for improvement or remakes of this one.
