Check out the Ulti-Bot in action: http://vimeo.com/67641975. XYZ Workshop's entry won sixth place in a 3D Toy Design Competition organized by GrabCAD and Ultimaker. See competition results here: http://grabcad.com/challenges/ultimaker-3d-printer-toy-design-challenge/results. The team aimed to create an articulated toy, inspired by the Octonauts cartoon, that picked up and stored objects. They decided on a robot tank with a rear hatch for "pooping" out collected items - but settled on using M&Ms instead of potentially choking hazardous 3D printed objects. Extensive testing led them to choose Skittles or Smarties as well. The design evolved to include a working chocolate cannon, which fired confections using a pen spring. Follow XYZ Workshop on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/xyzworkshop. The Ulti-Bot is 126mm wide, 104mm deep, and 155mm tall, made up of 37 assembled parts (excluding the figure and spring). It's printed in a combination of flexible black, silver, and yellow Ultimaker PLA. Most parts snap together; careful assembly is required for delicate joints. The tank tracks use flexible PLA, and the cannon's spring comes from a Uniball Jetstream Click pen with a 4.5mm, 28mm-long external diameter.
