The Turning Torso
thingiverse
The Turning Torso is a pioneering residential skyscraper in Sweden and Scandinavia's tallest building. Situated in Malmö on the Swedish side of Öresund Strait, it was designed by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava, who is also a structural engineer, sculptor, and painter. The tower officially opened its doors in 2005 after reaching an impressive height of 190 meters with 54 storeys and 147 apartments. There are two models available: a plain version and one with built-in supports. I have yet to determine the optimal method for printing this design, but the supports model seems to work well except for creating a jagged back spline on my printer. If you have a reliable slicer, you may achieve better results by using the standard model and relying on the slicer's support features. Keep in mind that the plain model cannot be printed without supports due to significant overhangs. Print Settings: Rafts: No matter what settings are chosen. Supports: Yes Notes: Remove any supports carefully with small scissors or a wire cutter.
