The Turning Point in Putney, London

This striking sculpture forms part of a nine-sculture trail situated along the River Thames in Putney, South London. A stunning 1.5-mile riverside path through parkland and piazzas lined with cafes and restaurants awaits walkers. The trail officially opened in September 2008, thanks to the collaborative efforts of the Putney Town Centre Partnership and Wandsworth Council. This exhibit showcases an impressive body of work by renowned sculptor Alan Thornhill, whose extensive experience with clay has evolved from pottery into intricate sculpture. His innovative techniques allow for creative improvisation while his portraits challenge conventional notions of normalcy through meticulous observation. This object is part of the "Scan The World" initiative, a non-profit project launched by MyMiniFactory to create a comprehensive digital archive of fully 3D printable sculptures, artworks and landmarks from around the globe. This treasure trove of creative assets is available for public access at no cost. Scan the World is an open-source community effort; if you have unique items in your surroundings that you'd like to share, email stw@myminifactory.com to learn how you can contribute to this collaborative project.
