Quick-fix solutions with minimal materials do the trick, getting the job done as expected. These state-of-charge caps are tailored to fit your M12 batteries perfectly, so I designed mine in green for easy visibility. Once charged, I put on the cap and store them safely in my packout. Now, whenever I grab a pack, removing the cap instantly tells me its status - used or dead. Either way, it's time to recharge that battery in the evening. I also came up with an additional design featuring a hole for wall mounting the batteries securely. Although they clip in decently, I wouldn't rely on this setup in a moving vehicle like a truck. For stationary use, though, it works just fine. To secure them firmly to the wall, I use standard flat head wood screws - probably #6 or #8.
