The Toast is one of six allegories designed to adorn the dining quarters of Paris' Hotel de Ville, rebuilt after the devastating fire of 1871. Jules-Félix Coutan, a Parisian sculptor born in 1849 and deceased in 1884, brought this artwork to life after Jean-Antoine-Marie Idrac's passing in 1884. The two artists reinvented traditional themes by infusing classic designs with modern spirit: a woman wearing a flowing gown topped with a crown of leaves elevates her glass in tribute to the emerging Republican era. This object is part of "Scan The World," a non-profit initiative launched by MyMiniFactory, aiming to create a vast digital archive of fully 3D printable sculptures, artworks, and landmarks from around the globe, available for free public access.
