The Toadstool Shop Stool

The Toadstool stool boasts impressive qualities that make it perfect for use in a makerspace, wood shop, lab or casual office setting. With its seat positioned at an ideal height of 21 inches, the stool excels for hands-on tasks, yet remains low enough to fit snugly under standard work tables. Add some vibrancy by applying a light coat of spray paint and transform your space instantly. To build this stool from scratch, start by opening the enclosed STL file in your chosen modeling app. From there, import the file into 123D Make where you can manipulate the panels to strike a balance between aesthetic appeal and structural stability. Since your laser's bed will likely vary from mine, I have adjusted the panel arrangement accordingly. The prototype was created using my Full Spectrum Gen5 Hobby laser cutter and a sheet of 0.177-inch Baltic Birch plywood. However, please note that the thickness of the material you choose may differ significantly, which necessitates adjustments to the cut width in your 123D Make file.
