The Tin Spool Case

The ultimate solution to prevent problems with your tin spools is now within reach. This ingenious case is designed specifically for a 100 g spool with either a 0.56 or 1.00 mm thread diameter. The spool dimensions are approximately 45 mm in diameter and 27mm height. If you require a case for a larger spool size or thread diameter, just let me know. It's been carefully crafted to address the following key issues: - Tangle-Free: The case ensures that the spool won't roll out on its own. - Secure Design: Since the spool is held in place by two sturdy arms, it will remain untangled even when moved around, preventing tangles from occurring. - Easy Usage: You can use the spool without worrying about unraveling a large amount of tin. Simply hold the case in your hand while soldering as you would with an unprotected spool. - Slim Design: The case is designed to be slim, allowing you to comfortably hold it in your hand while soldering. - Mountable: The bottom of the case features a hole for mounting - this can be attached to a wall using a screw. Good visibility of the thread diameter is also ensured, as the case has the diameter written on its side. The holes for exiting are designed with this size in mind. Assembly: 1. First, attempt to insert the thread from the outside into the small hole. This helps ensure that your printer hasn't made the hole too small (I've added a ~0.3mm offset which should be sufficient in most cases). If the hole is too tight, simply use a drill or a needle to make it slightly larger. 2. For the actual assembly: Insert the thread from the inside into the hole. 3. Next, insert the spool - turn it so that the upper part becomes the lid of the spool, which has a smaller inner diameter. 4. Ensure the spool is pressed down to allow the arms to grip the top part of the spool. 5. Finally, place the lid onto the case. If you ever need to rewind the spool at any point, simply remove the lid and rotate the spool inside the case with your fingers.
