This is the case for the SyKit! For more information about what the SyKit actually is, check out our awesome community over at symantis.org! This case is designed to securely house a Raspberry Pi B+. It's sleek, strong, and fully modular - just what you need to keep your device safe and organized. A system of magnets allows the top and bottom plates to be snapped on and off as needed, making it easy to stack multiple kits sky high. The body is 3D printed, but don't worry if you're not familiar with that process - we'll walk you through everything step by step. The lids are laser cut (although other forms of steel cutting work just fine too), and all you need is some small magnets and glue to put it all together. Instructions: The body was printed in ABS on a UPrint SE Printer using soluble generated supports at .254mm Z resolution, which is surprisingly high-quality for a budget-friendly option. Many prototypes were created on an Up Plus printer though, 0.2mm Z resolution, using moderate density supports that worked out really well. To get your SyKit looking its absolute best, sand the outer body up to 1000 grit using wet+dry sandpaper and apply three coats of matte black spray paint and two coats of clear, matte spray lacquer to finish off the look. There are slots cut into the top and bottom edges for (optional) silicone rubber to be inserted, adding a secure grip to the plates. The top and bottom plates are 0.8mm thick magnetized steel that have been laser cut and sanded up to 800 grit - not bad at all! We've sealed them with three coats of clear Briwax for an added layer of protection. Finally, you'll need 6mm x 1mm magnets, glued onto the 8 posts on the body using super glue (epoxy would be even better, but it's optional).
