"The Swinger" - CR-10 Experimental Printhead

WARNING: THIS IS A WORK IN PROGRESS! USE AT YOUR OWN RISK! I have included both STLs for those just looking to print or edit in Blender, as well as FBX files for people wanting to modify the files in Autodesk software. After using the CR-10 Heavy Duty Customizable Modular Mount (HDCMM) for a long time, I needed to adapt a print head to three criteria: First, it needs to be compatible with a readily-available MGN12 conversion for the X axis; Second, it needs to let me swap E3D V6-based hotend assemblies faster without removing the heat sink fan; Third, it needs to be compatible with HDCMM side mounted accessories. This design uses a hinge to convert the mounting clip concept into a swinging "hatch" which is held shut using one M3x18 screw, reducing the amount of disassembly required for swapping the hotend assembly. There is also an anchor to hold the top of the print head rigidly to the MGN12 kit's gantry plate (it is intended to be a snap fit with a 0.05mm tolerance but may require adhesives). It should be compatible with almost all of the original HDCMM accessories (parts cooler fan mounts, BL touch mount, ABL mount, etc). Any accessory mounted on the left side of the printhead will have to be removed in order to open the hatch - this was fine for my application, as I have a BL touch mounted on the left, and the position needed to be adjusted when swapping between my V6 and Volcano hotends anyway. I also hate the clunky name of the original design (though I love the design), so I went with "The Swinger". Probe offsets are the same as the original HDCMM. DO NOT USE THIS IF: - You do not have the same style of MGN12 X-axis conversion kit that I do (it's a very common one). REFER TO SECOND PREVIEW IMAGE. - You don't see the point of using it instead of another printhead option. - You only have one hotend and don't take it out of the printhead very often. - You like dogs but not cats. - You don’t like coffee and riding motorcycles late at night.
