The primary goal was to craft a complex 3D model that leverages the capabilities of 3D printing and laser cutting. We sought to design an organic coffee table that could be molded into shape using these innovative technologies. Our intention is to employ 3D printing to grasp the form and also to create molds for production. This scale 1:2 prototype was created through a combination of 3D printing and laser cutting techniques, allowing us to analyze the form and structural performance of our conceptual coffee table design. The Swan is an eye-catching sculptural coffee table made from eco-friendly materials such as cork and frosted glass. Our goal was to create a striking contrast between an organic shape and a flat, geometric form. The unique fusion of materiality and translucency also sets it apart. Production: To manufacture the cork component of the table, we propose utilizing CNC technology with a multi-axis machine featuring three or more axes.
