In rural Flanders during the latter part of the 17th century, a notorious inn and brothel stood tall, drawing inspiration from a real historical establishment called "De Swane" in Ename, Belgium, meticulously mapped by local cartographer Jan Bale as far back as 1660. The name itself hints at its infamous purpose as a place of illicit pleasure.
