City-Building Asset: A Heavyweight for Cities Skylines. Mass production of the GAZ-51 model kicked off in 1946, making it a staple on Soviet roads. Initially, its bonnet was crafted from wood, but eventually switched to a more durable all-metal design. This rugged truck soon dominated USSR streets, with assembly lines also sprouting up in Odessa and Irkutsk. The GAZ-51's popularity extended far beyond the Soviet Union's borders, with many units exported to countries across Asia, Africa, Eastern Europe, and even Finland. Licensing agreements allowed for local production in China (Yuejin NJ130), North Korea (Sungri-58), and Poland (Lublin-51).
