The SonDek - A Sonoff Powered Decora Light Switch

This is a custom design for a decora style light switch that can house a Sonoff Basic WiFi Smart Switch, acting as a drop-in replacement for any standard or decora light switch. It consists of a 3D printed decora light switch body and a switch paddle/face with a Sonoff basic board that slides into the printed switch body. I highly recommend cutting out the screw terminals and soldering short wires directly to the traces, as the screw terminals do not hold wire well and there is a high chance that it will slide out and short on your box. Use the pin of a pop rivet to secure the paddle to the body. The holes may be slightly undersized, so you may have to drill them out with a hand drill first. If the inconsistent glow bothers you, try adjusting the LED on the board and put a small piece of heat shrink around it to focus/shield the side light. See the last 4 photos for the heat shrink tube mod. Lights (or other loads) connected to the SonDek can be controlled by the physical switch or with an App, Google Home, Alexa, or Apple Home. If you flash the Sonoff with something like Tasmoto, you can also control it with a web interface, MQQT, Home Assistant, NodeRed, Hue emulation, Wemo emulation, and many others. This design was created from scratch in OpenSCAD with at least 20 incremental versions to get to this point.
