The Small Drawing Room
sketchfab
Welcome to The Hallwyl Museum in Stockholm, Sweden. This former home of Walther and Wilhelmina von Hallwyl now showcases their elegant lifestyle. After a formal dinner, the ladies would head to the small drawing room for drinks and lively conversation. This cozy space was only used on special occasions; normally the doors were closed to keep it private. The room's design is inspired by a 1760s Rococo interior at Äs manor house, one of several country homes owned by the Hallwyl family. In the late 19th century, this style was considered feminine due to its soft and curvaceous forms. As such, it was perfect for a ladies' drawing room or boudoir. During this time, grand homes typically had rooms separated by gender. Some interiors were designed specifically for women, while others catered to men. The photographs used in this project were taken using four Panasonic Lumix GX8 cameras, capturing the beauty of The Hallwyl Museum's interior spaces.
