The Short Stabilizer

The Short Stabilizer

I really loved AyzKeys approach for a custom made DIY bow stabilizer, and I adjusted his design to smaller diameter shafts and printed it. Unfortunately, due to the inferior size, this was too wobbly. Then I started thinking about what I needed. Playing along, the final result is here: my almost 'legal' version (10 inch for competition) with a double amount of shafts for a more convincing optical appearance: the 6 barrel big bore shaft short stab! I attached an OK vibration damper and wow - this works great for me! Currently, my son and I use the short version, and we also have full shaft length stabs ready for use. They really look impressive with their six 'barrels' (shafts) in both lengths. My latest design has a more organic shape which I prefer to my previous attempts. The other parts are not so heavily loaded. Usually, I print with supports - the rest comes out nice enough.
