The keychain was a sleek and compact device that hung from a chain attached to a metal ring on the user's belt. Its rectangular shape gleamed softly under the light of a nearby lamp, its surface etched with intricate patterns that seemed to shimmer as it moved. A thin wire sprang out from one end, terminating in a small metal plug that fit neatly into a corresponding socket on the user's keyring. The whole device was remarkably well-made and had a satisfying heft to it.
