This cast has been created from the original in Saint Etienne Church. In 1999 the original sculptoreous group was renovated, this allowed its molding and casting in 2005. The 13 figures are bigger than life-size and have been sculpted in a lkind of tender limestone. Ligier Richier, the sculptor who made the original piece, got his inspiration from "des Mystères de la Passion", a recurrent theme in religious theatre.
