The Secret Garden illustration

This project was meant for the “Mechanical Marvels” contest, but we couldn't finish it in time :(This beauty, inspired from "The Secret Garden" scene is modeled with love to serve as a fully printable painting illustration for children or adults. In addition to being from plastic, it has mechanical parts here and there, which adds up to the user’s joy.All the characters are inspired from different clipart images from all over the internet. (Attributions are given at the end of the description). They are designed in Fusion 360 as flat embossed models and painted to please the eye.It is meant for your children. It motivates them to read the book before getting hands on painting it to know the right colors to the corresponding parts.There are two mechanisms here that we've modeled and worked with: rack and pinion, and radial expansion mechanism. Rack and pinion: it serves for translating rotation to linear movement and vice versa. Radial expansion mechanism. This is an outstandingly working mechanism which turns rotation movement to radial expansion. It was modeled from a scratch and used to grow out bush in three directions thanks to 3 rails.When 2 mechanisms combined, we rotate the pinion by sliding the main pin forward, the gears rotation translates to rack's linear movement and this rotates the spur gear, which locates on the radial expansion mechanism. This mechanism, in turn, does its job and by rotating pushes out its linear rails and the viewer sees the bush growing in 3 directions. Construction guide: Step1.
