The sculptor
sketchfab
The artisan crafts statuettes destined for display in the hutch, carefully selecting materials such as oak or walnut. Wooden blocks are secured on a workbench and held in place by metal claws. At this early stage, the sculptor wields a hammer driven by a mallet to rough out the design, then employs finer gouges to refine the details with precision. Once complete, the statuettes are carefully placed in the display case for final adjustments. Brands pledge unwavering commitment to using only the finest quality wood available. In Brussels, these statuettes undergo official verification by members of the corporation of sculptors, who mark them with a distinctive mallet strike on either the top or underside of each piece. On display at the Musée d'Art et d'Histoire (located within the Cinquantenaire complex in Brussels), these exceptional works were captured using CapturingReality technology.
