Corey Takara and Caitlin Miller have created a 3D printed sculpture called "The Scale of Inequality." It represents the imbalance of wealth in the US with a white print, made using SLS technology. The artwork aims to visualize how one wealthy person's net worth exceeds that of many poor individuals combined. Inspired by an editorial cartoon, Takara designed a scale form with vintage weighing scale elements like base and arms. To emphasize disparities further, she added urban-like features on the poverty side and Greek pillars on the affluent side. The sculpture serves as a visual aid to comprehend the pressing issue of wealth inequality in America.
