With an obsessive determination, embark on a lengthy project involving 26 prints, each requiring 25 color changes and 10 Z-offset adjustments. Dedicate approximately three hours to this venture, excluding design time. The end result? A 5-color bottle opener boasting text on four edges, inspired by a Simpsons quote. To achieve this intricate design, create individual objects for each color in OpenSCAD and slice them into two-layer pieces (apart from the top and bottom, which needed four layers). Overcoming challenges of faithful skeining with rounded edges proved difficult; thus, a custom font was crafted, considering layer thickness and path width variables. The final touch? Adding a solid bar behind text objects to ensure smooth skeining and high-quality results.
