The Rolling Worms
grabcad
Two-stage symmetrical worm gear delivers exceptional results with a ratio of 1450. Calculations from the design accelerator reveal that when motor rpm reaches n1=1450, coupled with a motor torque of T1=0.035 Nm, the output torque will be a remarkable T2=14.4 Nm - a significant increase over the expected 50.75 Nm (0.035x1450). Performance remains consistent across varying motor speeds: when n1=1450 rpm, T2=14.4 Nm; at n1=500 rpm, T2=15.9 Nm; and even at n1=1 rpm, the output torque reaches an impressive 19.8 Nm. The construction of this worm gear is robust and sturdy, capable of withstanding extreme loads - up to 20 Nm and a shaft load of 300 N without any issues. Regular updates will ensure its performance stays top-notch over time.
