The Robust Quadcopter

The Robust Quadcopter

thingiverse

This updated version of "Hulk" Quadcopter features enhanced robustness and is designed to serve as an FPV platform with extra carrying capacity. Key changes include stronger landing skids made from 3.25mm diameter music wire, a modified battery holder for secure placement, reduced spar ends that only hold the nuts, Blender model for assembly, 3DS version for non-Blender users, and tested STLs in Slic3R with various fill percentages. The FPV transmitter is held on by a small bracket made from plastic bottle cutouts, and electronic components are secured with rubber, packing foam, and tubing. Velcro ties and cable ties are used to keep the battery and components in place while maintaining tidiness. A power distribution board from HobbyKing is included, though additional copper wire was added for increased current capacity. Simulators like RealFlight or PhoenixRC are recommended for honing flying skills and avoiding costly repairs.
