I wasn't satisfied with any of the Shields available when I began this project, so I decided to create my own from scratch. As it stands, I've uploaded a version without mounting hardware since I'm not confident in the quality of what I made, and I'm sure someone else can come up with an even better design. It's engineered to use a 40mm glass sphere as its central component. I chose this particular type because it was affordable, but be aware that due to international shipping from China, you may experience a delay in receiving your order. You can find alternative clear options on Amazon Prime, but personally, I think the green one looks more authentic. If you prefer to use a smaller ball, simply scale down the design to fit your chosen component. The glass sphere doesn't illuminate very well due to how light behaves inside it, so you'll only see it clearly if you position an LED directly on the other side of the glass. I spent a lot of time filling and sanding in post-production, but with patience, it will turn out nicely. Also included is the Shield_with_Ball file, which allows you to create one without purchasing a glass sphere or scaling down the design for a desk-sized version. However, keep in mind that it looks much better with glass in the middle. Cheers and happy crafting!
