These are the files of my project for Maker Faire Rome (Call for Makers). I'm excited to share with you a 1:1000 replica of the Rion Antirion Bridge in Greece. This project showcases how 3D Printing can be used in Engineering, particularly Civil Engineering, to create replicas and models that help teachers explain design principles making structures earthquake- and windproof. The instructions for printing all this and assembling it are too detailed to write here, so if you're genuinely interested in making the bridge yourself, let me know in the comments. I'll be happy to provide more information. The water under the bridge is made of soap, while the entire bridge was spray-painted, and I used lead-tape to give the bridge its blue lighting effect. Be prepared for a time-consuming process that requires a lot of glue. Note that there's no other 3D Design on the internet, and literally no true sketches online contain dimensions. Therefore, my designs are as close to real life as possible, with one noticeable issue being slightly taller pylons than normal, but it's not too noticeable. Most parts don't need supports, but some do, and removing them is easy. Add supports if you think your printer needs them. Print Settings Printer: Wanhao Duplicator i3 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 200-300 microns Infill: Varying (25-50) Notes: Ideally, use yellow filament for the bridge-under parts and white plastic for the rest. The whites are meant to be painted over. I used PLA with no issues (apart from some wrapping on corners and underextrusion that was the machine's fault). Post-Printing Paint all parts for maximum realism. You'll need a lot of glue to complete the bridge. As a tip, if two glued parts disconnect, first trim their surfaces with sandpaper or a Dremel, then reglue. Burned glue is toxic, so be careful. How I Designed This Design Process All models were made in SolidWorks 2015 and are uploaded on GrabCAD.com: https://grabcad.com/library/the-rion-antirion-bridge-replica-1-1000-mfr-1
