Carving referenced 'The Ringses 6a' on both the Beckensall Archive and ERA has been documented. This minor exposure of probable outcropping is one of several carved to the east of the Ringses multivallate Iron Age hillfort, situated near Doddington in Northumberland. Although only one cup-less partial ring has been recorded on this panel previously, it becomes clear when viewing the model that the carver(s) utilized the rock's topography to create rings. At the stone southern end, curving grooves have been added to enhance a feature resembling a double ring. Historic England scheduling is available at https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1418072. ERA and Beckensall Archive records can be accessed at https://archaeologydataservice.ac.uk/era/section/panel/overview.jsf?eraId=37. A model created from a single stereo pair captured by Kevin Malloy in March 2007, during recording for NADRAP, forms part of the ERA / NADRAP archive.
