Prehistoric bedrock carvings are situated on private farmland within The Ringses area of Doddington Moor, located east of Doddington in Northumberland. This exposed outcrop is one of several carvings found east of the multivallate Iron Age hillfort known as The Ringses. Referenced as 'The Ringses 5a' on the Beckensall Archive (BA), it's described as: It features an irregularly-shaped outcrop, slightly domed in shape, covered away from its edges with numerous cups of varying sizes. A curved line of eight small cups lies beside two arcs that face inward toward each other, and two sets of linked cups are also present. Six small 'dominoes' can be seen along with thirty-two additional cups. Added to the ERA by NADRAP in 2008. Historic England's scheduling information is available online at https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1418072. Additional details regarding this site are accessible through the ERA and BA websites at https://archaeologydataservice.ac.uk/era/section/panel/overview.jsf?eraId=34. A 3D model of this site was created using two stereo pairs captured by Joe Gibson (NADRAP Team 3) in March 2007. The imagery forms part of the ERA / NADRAP archive, which has been deposited with Historic England and Northumberland County Council.
