The Ringses 4a (March 2007)
sketchfab
Prehistoric bedrock carvings on private farmland in Doddington Moor's Ringses area, East of Doddington, Northumberland. A small exposed outcrop is one of several carvings located east of The Ringses Iron Age hillfort. The carving is listed as 'Ringses 4a' on the Beckensall Archive (BA), added to ERA by NADRAP in 2008. BA describes three cups, while NADRAP notes two. A faint ring might surround the large cup or the rock's natural topography could create that impression. Historic England lists this site at https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1418072. ERA & BA information can be found at https://archaeologydataservice.ac.uk/era/section/panel/overview.jsf?eraId=31. This model is based on two stereo pairs captured by Joe Gibson (NADRAP Team 3) in March 2007. The imagery forms part of the ERA / NADRAP archive deposited with Historic England and Northumberland County Council.
