Carving referenced ‘The Ringses 1a’ on both the Beckensall Archive and ERA. This area of exposed outcrop is one of a number carved to the east of the The Ringses multivallate Iron Age hillfort, near Doddington in Northumberland. A field wall runs over its northern edge, with evidence of quarrying seen elsewhere on the stone. Motifs consist of cups, rings, partial rings and enclosed motifs. Historic England scheduling: https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1418072 ERA and Beckensall Archive record: https://archaeologydataservice.ac.uk/era/section/panel/overview.jsf?eraId=25 This fairly noisy model is created from a selection of 4 stereo pairs captured by Kevin Malloy in March 2007, during recording for NADRAP. It represents only part of the carved surface. Imagery forms part of the ERA / NADRAP archive.
