The "Revolver" - One Colour Print version of this Challenging Revolving Puzzle

The "Revolver" is a 3D printed puzzle featuring 41 independent moving parts that revolve and slide around a two-part Retainer, resulting in an impressive outcome with straightforward prints. This alternative puzzle doesn't require grouping colors like the six-color version does; instead, it involves arranging matching shapes to solve it. People without enough filament colors or who prefer not to make it colorful will appreciate this option. To view the color version, refer to http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1341294. Similar to a Rubik's cube, the goal is to align and group matching shapes, but with two puzzles in one - you can either line up rows or columns with all the same shapes. One space is left for the Sliders to move one space at a time, requiring you to plan your moves as you progress towards your goal. If needed, you can always pull it apart and realign it, but if you're up for the challenge, glue the thread so it won't come apart. The parts are all easy prints, and assembly is very straightforward. This 'shape' version doesn't need different filament colors like the six-color slider version does. Black is used for the Retainer, and it's best to print all Revolvers and Sliders in the same color. When printing, leave one Slider out to make a space for movement; it's recommended to leave out one of the vertical bar sliders as the slot in the underlying Revolver looks similar, making the empty space less noticeable. (Refer to images for additional information.) Achieving the end result takes time, but it's well worth the effort. Print each .stl separately - Retainer, Revolvers, and Sliders - Most machines capable of printing fine detail and good slicing apps should have no problem with the fine tolerances in this print. Watching it come together is satisfying, but once it's assembled and the Slider shapes are all mixed up, it can be very frustrating until you solve it. Then, it's extremely satisfying again! Print the puzzle and see if you can do it. If you succeed, post images of your success! Please refer to the print instructions and images for additional information. A zip file has been added with all the slider files so they can be printed individually if necessary. If you like this design, check out my other fun and practical designs.
