This modern bronze sculpture portrays a man cradling his son against him from the Return of the Prodigal bible scene. The Parable of the Prodigal Son, also known as Two Brothers or Lost Son, is one of Jesus' parables appearing in Luke 15:11-32. Jesus shares it with his disciples and others, including Pharisees. In this story, a father has two sons: an older and younger son. The younger son asks the father for his inheritance, which the father grants. However, the younger son squanders his fortune, becoming destitute. Eventually, he is forced to return home empty-handed, intending to beg his father to accept him back as a servant. To everyone's surprise, he is not scorned by his father but welcomed back with celebration and fanfare. The older son becomes envious of the festivities. The father reminds the older son that one day he will inherit everything and that they should celebrate the return of the younger son because he was lost and now found.
