The Raptor Hand by e-NABLE

Please NOTE: While the Raptor Hand has been a super-popular design among the e-NABLE community, it is no longer recommended for use outside of testing or research purposes. Our testing reveals that this design's gripping capabilities don't measure up to more modern e-NABLE designs. The current go-to hand designs are the Phoenix v2, Unlimbited Phoenix, and Osprey. UPDATE: As of 4/3/2015, we've got updated finger snap pins called DistalPins2 for a tighter fit. We also swapped out the gauntlet with new parts now labeled "Bracers." Five distinct shapes of bracer are available (type A-E). The Raptor Hand's currently being revised to reflect these changes. UPDATE: On 3/30/2015, we enhanced distal phalanges with stronger tie-off bars for improved performance. The elastic tie-off bars have been axed and now the elastics attach at the upper rear of the palm. The latest update, courtesy of Mike Agronin from Direct Dimensions, comes in a PDF Assembly Instruction Manual as part of the Raptor Hand's assembly package. We're excited to introduce the innovative e-NABLE design – the Raptor Hand. Developed collaboratively by top e-NABLE designers, this creation integrates the best concepts generated through a year-long crowd-sourced innovation initiative. Our primary objectives behind designing the Raptor Hand were to simplify fabrication and assembly for both makers and recipients while establishing it as a future development platform with progressive licensing terms.
