Why I created this

After 2-3 game sessions I spottet some wear on some tokens. To preserve a nice appereance of the tokens I created this protective shell / case.

Print instructions

Works best with a flat print surface (not textured).

Please feel free to use the provided 3mf file which is set up to print shells for 20 tokens with a color change after the first layer. Otherwise here are the important settings for a succesfull result:

0,2 mm layer height

first layer in some very transparent filament (PETG)
The transparent PETG from “Devil Design” is the clearest I found yet. The transparent PETG used in the pictures is from “Spectrum Filaments”.

other layers in a color whitch matches the token color

Infill/perimeters overlap: 50%

Elephant food compenstation: 0,08 mm

⚠️ Warning

Because this print is for the most part only one layer thin it can be very tedious to remove.
To be save, please make some testprints with only one token shell and dial in your first layer height before commiting to print a whole plate.

Assembly

Put the game token inside the smaler (inner.stl) shell and then simply press the wider (outer.stl) shell over the smaller one. It's a simple friction fit.
