In this tale, a devoted father has two sons who share his bloodline. The younger son makes a bold request to his father for his rightful inheritance, only to squander it in reckless extravagance, becoming penniless in the process. He then returns home with the intention of humbly begging his father to take him on as one of his paid laborers, anticipating their relationship has come to an abrupt end. To everyone's surprise, the father warmly welcomes him back and throws a grand celebration for his return. Meanwhile, the older son stubbornly refuses to join in the festivities. The father gently reminds the older son that he will indeed inherit everything, but emphasizes that they should still rejoice at the younger son's return because he was once lost but is now rediscovered.
