The Sévres Manufactory, a French porcelain producer established in 1740, created "The Prince Imperial with His Dog Nero." Designed by renowned French artist Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux, the sculpture was modeled by Henri Robert and completed in 1912. The artwork is made from hard-paste biscuit porcelain and stands at a height of 16.13 cm with its base. It is classified as ceramics-porcelain and is part of the French culture. The piece, which features a prince with his dog Nero, was acquired by the Metropolitan Museum of Art in 1972 through the Rogers Fund. A scan of the artwork was provided by Tom Freudenheim during a NYC Museum MediaLab Meetup event at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, conducted using a Sense 3D hand-held scanner.
