The Perched Rock near Lee's Ferry, Arizona
thingiverse
This model is based on images of "Perched Rock" near Lee's Ferry and Marble Canyon, Arizona, first photographed by William Bell in 1872 as part of a USGS survey. The photographs were later converted into a photo-animation and stitched using Catch123 before being modified in Meshmixer. However, the top of the rock's accuracy was compromised due to the user's limited expertise with Meshmixer. Additional variations on this concept include a walk through the historic stereoscopic image and a large-scale panorama requiring a custom-built viewer. Despite being printed in PLA to avoid severe ABS warping, some peeling still occurred during printing. The model has one shell.
