The iconic Parthenon stands as a timeless symbol of ancient Greek architecture, its majestic columns and perfectly proportioned design continuing to inspire awe and wonder today. Built on the sacred hill of the Acropolis in Athens, this sublime temple was constructed between 447 and 432 BCE under the masterful guidance of the renowned architect Ictinus. The Parthenon's facade, a masterpiece of Doric architecture, is characterized by its six Ionic columns and a frieze adorned with majestic carvings depicting scenes from Greek mythology. As we approach the completion of our CGT 116 course work for week three, let us take a moment to appreciate this remarkable structure as it has stood the test of time.
