The problem with our large printers is that the Bowden tube is extremely lengthy, which creates too much room for error during retractions and priming. This issue led me to consider a direct drive solution as my only viable option. With this extruder relocation arm, however, you can significantly reduce the size of the Bowden by about five inches, drastically improving both retraction and priming capabilities. Unlike direct drive extruders that result in more weight on the hotend, causing ringing issues, this setup does not impose any additional stress on the hotend. It effectively offers a hybrid solution between a traditional Bowden system and a direct drive extruder. Originally designed for the CR-10S S4, I have successfully implemented it with an 0.8 nozzle. The only challenge was finding the optimal setting to achieve zero oozing during prints, which can be dependent on the PLA brand used.
