The Open Source Drone Project

myminifactory

We've been collaborating on The Open Source Drone Project with Printotype for 10 months to develop a modular drone that can be printed using any entry-level home 3D printer. This delta, pusher prop design allows for a front-facing camera and a spacious bay to house electronics and a large battery. When printed at full size, the aircraft weighs approximately 1.5KG when made with ABS. The airframe is built for speed and has a stall speed of 35mph. The modular design is extremely robust, although it does add a small amount of weight to the frame over printing in one piece. Please share your photos as you build, and feel free to suggest design improvements or questions! We'll be adding a list of recommended RC gear soon.
