The One Ring (glowing)

This is the text for The One Ring from The Lord of the Rings. Follow post-printing instructions to make a ring with text that is normally invisible but glows when exposed to UV light, replacing fire used in the books. You'll need polycaprolactone (PCL) for this build, available in pellet form at several online stores. MCM Elextronics sells Polymold PCL under its brand name. If you have a dual extruder, try using this instead: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1343185. Print Settings: Printer Brand: Printrbot Printer: Printrbot Plus Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.1 MM Infill: N/A Notes: Use glow in the dark filament. Post-Printing Heat water to boiling or just below. Pour enough PCL pellets into hot water to create your ring. Once clear, remove PCL from the water with a metal utensil like a spoon or fork. PCL is non-toxic and food safe unless otherwise stated. It will cool enough for handling but be cautious of trapped pockets of hot water. Fill the space between the outer ring and finger with molten PCL without covering the glowing plastic layer, as it needs to be cut off later. You may need to return the ring to hot water to keep PCL moldable. Shape the edges of the ring and remove any excess PCL. This can be re-melted for other projects. Let the ring cool, or run cold water over it to speed up the process. Remove the outer layer of glowing plastic using a pocket knife and file, as used in this build, which was the most challenging part. Touch up the ring with short dips in hot water and you're done.
