My young daughter loves to play a game called Shelby's Snack Shack. It is an awesome game for kids to help them learn basic math skills. I thought the concept was great so I adapted it to be an easily printable game for families to play together.

Printing:

My goal with this game was to make it as easy to print, while being engaging and interesting to look at. I used a .4mm nozzle as it is the most common, .3mm layer height for fast printing, .gcode color changes to highlight textures and symbols, PLA as it is easy to print, and support-free geometry throughout. My provided .gcode files have color changes on parts that look best with color changes. All parts are fairly straightforward if you go to slice them on your own and I have called out orientation and quantities in the individual model files. The Cup is a 2-piece, friction-fit assembly, but you can use just the Liner or just the Outer if you'd like to eliminate some parts.

Assembly:

Place the Action & Number Spinners on the Spinner Baseplates and secure with Circlips. Push the Indicator into the Spinner Baseplate. Slide the Cup Liner into the Cup Outer, this should be a fairly snug friction-fit. If you so choose, you can put a small amount of glue between the two parts. All the parts fit nicely in a filament box for storage or travel play!

Setup:

Put the 40 Acorns in a pile in the center of the table, or in the filament box if you're on the go. Each player gets a Cup to put their Acorns into and the Action & Number Spinners can stay in the center of the table and may be passed around.

Play:

The youngest player goes first by spinning the Action Spinner. If the Action Spinner lands on:

Acorn: The player spins the Number Spinner and picks up that many Acorns from the pile in the center of the table and places them in their Cup.

Steal: The player spins the Number Spinner and steals that many Acorns from their opponents. The amount stolen can be divided up between several opponents.

Slip: The player spins the Number Spinner and removes that many Acorns from their own Cup and places them back into the pile in the center of the table.

Sleep: The player's turn is over.

After the action has been completed, play continues to the left of the player. Once all Acorns are gone from the pile in the center of the table, the player with the most Acorns in their Cup wins!

Variants:

If you have more than 4 players, just print more Cups!

If you want longer gameplay, just print more Acorns!
