With 460,000 square feet of added space and 9,000 square feet of renovations, the seven-story New Sibley Memorial Hospital boasts a total of 200 private patient rooms, plus ample shell space for a future expansion that will accommodate an additional 48 beds. The new facility also features extensive pre- and post-partum facilities that can handle over 4,500 newborn deliveries at a time, including a special care nursery, 50 spacious post-partum rooms, 18 labor, delivery, and recovery suites, three dedicated "c-section" rooms, an 18-bay special care nursery, and a state-of-the-art 35-bay medical oncology and infusion center to support the existing radiation oncology center.
