The Necronomicon Maze Box
myminifactory
Hello! This is my very first design, no remixes here. I hope you like it! First off, to make this box, you'll need 8 magnets (10mm x 2mm). I bought 52 of these magnets for 9€ on Amazon, and I think that's a great price - they're versatile and can be used in many ways. You might also want to grab two rubber bands, but it's not necessary. When you print and build this box, you'll figure out the solution easily enough. However, if you need help, start by realizing that the round pieces on the sides can be detached from the box. Then locate the same symbol on the top panel and solve the maze to match the other symbol. Once you've done that, you can open the box... or so it seems! The video I attached explains it all better. https://youtu.be/ckVGrk8CMKU https://youtu.be/lR1TmEHtpwE The parts of this box are super easy to print, and I designed it to minimize supports. Assembling the pieces is a breeze and lots of fun! Keep in mind that the box and maze consume the most filament and time, so here are some tips to save you some: wall thickness = 0.8mm (two wall lines), top layers = 2, bottom layers = 2, and infill density = 10%. With these settings, I saved almost 200g of filament - that's a 30% savings! When printing the box.stl file, make sure there are no supports inside the hinges. Now, about those rubber bands... if you just flip the box, it unlocks, but they're not essential. If you do use them, though, be sure to test the magnets' strength - they need to be able to lift the locks attached to the rubber band.
