The Necromancer's Bells
thingiverse
The Necromancers' Bells, inspired by Garth Nix's Old Kingdom series, are a stunning creation that brings the mystical world to life. Concept artist Josh Wong designed these bells as part of a project that reimagines people, places, and objects from the first book in Garth Nix's Old Kingdom series, Sabriel. His illustrations can be seen on his portfolio page. Prop fabrication and printing were expertly handled by Jeanette Denham of Xmachina Cosplay. Eric Lange took charge of 3D design, bringing these intricate bells to life. * The Necromancers' Bells print with minimal support, only a small amount under the actual bell itself. * Some support removal is necessary for bell number six between the top surface and the claws. * Bell seven stands at over ten inches tall. * All bells can be scaled down slightly without sacrificing too much detail. If you create these bells, feel free to share your photos and let us know on @xmachinacosplay, @joshwongart, and @30secfantasy! Important note: Some bells had issues with missing material between the handle and the bell; this has been corrected for bells three, four, and five. Additional update (8/22/2018): Bell seven-four had an error that resulted in broken surfaces; this has been fixed in bell seven-five. Photography on this project is copyright Eric Lange 2017. The Necromancers' Bells illustration is copyright Josh Wong 2017. The 3D data is under a Creative Commons - Attribution license.
