The Mysterious Chain

This heavy-duty chain secures an old wall at Bank Top Kilns, Rosedale. The original function of the wall and structure remains unclear - it may have been a kiln from earlier times later dismantled for reuse, or possibly some type of siding or loading platform. The 1893 Ordnance Survey map depicts some form of structure, but lacks sufficient detail to provide an answer.
