The MRRF Plane

The MRRF Plane! I took my 5-year-old to the Midwest RepRap Festival in Goshen, IN. He wanted a toy to bring home. I suggested we print a toy he designed. He used Tinkercad with my help to create this amazing plane. I assisted with sizing and part alignment, also making tweaks for printer-friendliness. You're seeing the creative mind of a 5-year-old at work. I had to talk him out of opening the emergency exit door. You'll see in the picture that we added his name to the wings. Here's a blank set of wings for you to download. There are two versions of the body and wheels. One set has wheels sticking into the body for alignment, while the other set has wheels going outside the body. Our initial attempt at wheels and body had an axle that was too small, breaking when trying to assemble it. With no time to print another body, I strengthened the axle and made it contoured to fit snugly with the body. The new axle is glued just outside the holes for better alignment.
