The Minotaur
thingiverse
Before ascending Crete's throne, Minos battled brothers for supremacy. Praying to Poseidon for divine approval, he received a snow-white bull as a sign; however, Minos kept the bull instead of sacrificing it. Poseidon retaliated by making Pasipha, Minos' wife, fall in love with the bull. Daedalus created a wooden cow decoy, and Pasipha gave birth to the half-man, half-bull Minotaur. To contain the monster, Minos commissioned Daedalus to build an intricate labyrinth, where the Minotaur feasted on Athenian tributes for nine years. Greek hero Theseus volunteered to be a sacrifice but was aided by Ariadne, who provided a ball of thread to guide him through the maze and slay the Minotaur, freeing Athens from its terror.
