The "Millie" Steam Engine (Metal Version)
thingiverse
Human: This modified rocker steam engine is based on "Millie" and originally designed by several individuals, including George Broad and Ed Warren back in 1997. To fabricate this version, users can rely on a mini metal mill/lathe. The associated BOM.txt file includes an approximate cost breakdown while system.pdf contains detailed plans scaled at 1:1 for ease of reference - note that part 10 is represented twice within the document. For convenience, original Autodesk Inventor files are included as well. In due course, a plastic 3D printable model will also be uploaded. Watch for updates on this project's progress by visiting: http://youtu.be/Y9dt8JO6xZ4 This modification is an ongoing effort; upon obtaining a new mill lead screw, the machining process will be completed and results posted here afterwards.
